This is my last model from my dear friend, Alex Johnson.

The model was built from the very rare resin Gulfstream 1:96 scale kit of the Elco seventy-seven foot PT-20 Class boat. To create the 59 from this kit, Alex had to remove the molded on alloy boot from the front of the charthouse. He also had to reshape the area around the cockpit as well as reconfigure the two turrets to get them to look like the turrets of the second production series of this class of PT.
Alex fashioned the depression rail for the 20mm from music wire. All of the machine guns as well as the 20mm gun came from a company named MASTERPIECESINMINITATURE. The kit’s machine guns were very simple items and the kit did/does not come with a 20mm gun. The model was painted with WHITE ENSIGN MODELS’ COLOURCOATS paints and the numbers are dry-transfer decals.
Inasmuch this is the last model that Alex built for me, it will have a special place in my heart. Thank you Alex, my fellow PT Nut.
